HORSEBACK RIDING

horseback trail riding

Southeastern Oklahoma is home to over 535,000 acres of land available for horseback riding. The Ouachita National Forest and the Three Rivers Wildlife Management areas are waiting for you to explore. Horses can travel on the forest floor. Be sure to have a permit before going on Three Rivers Wildlife Management land. Pay close attention to the signs at the entrances off of the highway they will help you to identify if you are about to enter on Three Rivers Wildlife Management land or National Forest land. Some cabins offer equestrian lodging, please be sure to ask when booking your stay.

The Beavers Bend Depot is perfect for beginners and children; their 2 ½ mile ride allows riders to catch a glimpse of deer and various types of wildlife. For more experienced riders, the back roads of McCurtain County offer endless riding adventures.
