When is Fall Foliage?
We cannot predict when the leaves change. It depends on the weather and Mother Nature, but generally it is mid-October through mid-November.

Are there cabins on the river?  Yes, there are some cabins on the Mountain Fork and Glover Rivers.

When is the Kiamichi Owa-Chito Festival of the Forest held? The Kiamichi Owa-Chito Festival is held the third week in June at Beavers Bend Resort Park.

What is the name of the business that makes rustic cabin furniture? River Mountain Manufacturing 580-584-3315.

How many people visit the Broken Bow Lake and Beavers Bend Resort Park area each year? Broken Bow Lake and Beavers Bend Resort Park average over one million visitors each year.

Do you have any cabins on the Broken Bow Lake?  Broken Bow Lake does not allow commercial development on its shorelines.  The Lakeview Lodge is the only lodging directly on the lake.

Where are boat ramps located on Broken Bow Lake?  Boat ramps can be found on the Stevens Gap Lake Road and the Carson Creek Lake Road. Follow the signs on the lake roads to the different ramps.

Do you have a public swimming pool?  We have several area swimming beaches.   Some motels and Bed &Breakfasts in our area have a swimming pool.  Most cabins do not have them.

Is the Red Slough open year round to bird watching?  Certain times of the year birdwatching is better than other times; however the Red Slough is open year round.  In the winter months, the Red Slough is closed to birdwatchers until after 1pm for duck hunters.

Are there things for a toddler to do there?  For younger children we recommend the Beavers Bend Depot Train Ride, the Forest Heritage Center Museum, and the Beavers Bend Nature Center just for starters.  There is plenty to do here with small children.

 

Helpful Hints

  • If enjoying outdoor recreation in the woods in during October and November, for your safety please wear fluorescent orange so that hunters in the area can see you.
  • Make reservations for summer weekends and holidays 6-8 months in advance for best selection.  Beavers Bend Resort Park cabins will often book a year in advance for these weekends.
  • Most cabins require a two-night minimum, so if you will only need a one-night stay you might try one of our area motels or Bed & Breakfasts.
  • If you are having trouble finding available lodging contact the Broken Bow Chamber –they maintain an availability list.
  • If you are coming on a summer weekend or holiday, it is best to make reservations for canoeing and horseback riding in advance.
